Background of the Colloquium
In tradition of the international scientific colloquiums
Modelling of Material Processing
in Riga in 1999,
Modelling for Saving Resources in Riga 2001 and
Modelling for Electromagnetic Processing in Hanover 2003, the University of Latvia organised,
together with the Institute for Electrothermal Processes of the University of
Hanover and other co-operation partners, the next colloquium Modelling for
Material Processing in Riga in June 2006. Recent results of research and
development activities in the field of electromagnetic processing technologies
for creating new and alternative materials, materials with highest quality and
purity and new innovative products were presented at the colloquium.
Topics
Papers on the following topics were presented:
- Numerical and physical modelling for electromagnetic processing of
- new and high quality metal alloys
- non-metallic materials
- Crystal growing and surface treatment of semi-conductive materials
- Production processes for new and innovative products
